Education Minister and Ex-ISRO Chief Gear Up for NEET-UG Re-Exam
In a bid to ensure that the upcoming NEET-UG 2026 re-examination proceeds without a hitch, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan convened a high-level meeting, joined by Dr. K. Radhakrishnan, the former ISRO chairman. The gathering, held at the Ministry of Education, was not just another routine affair. Instead, it underscored the government’s resolve to maintain the integrity of one of India’s most significant examinations.
The re-examination, scheduled for June 21, is poised to accommodate over a million aspirants at 5,400 centres spread across 550 cities. The original examination, conducted on May 3, encountered several obstacles, prompting calls for a re-assessment. Dr. Radhakrishnan, who now chairs the High Powered Steering Committee for the National Testing Agency (NTA), lent his expertise to ensure that the re-examination would be free from the glitches that marred its predecessor.
