L&T Secures Landmark Orders for GeoStructure Business
Larsen & Toubro’s GeoStructure business has emerged triumphant with a series of substantial contract wins across India, signalling a robust expansion in the domain of specialised civil and geotechnical construction. These significant orders, valued between ₹1,000 crore and ₹2,500 crore, are a testament to L&T's strategic prowess and technical acumen.
Among the most notable of these is an unprecedented piling order secured from JSW Utkal Steel Ltd. for its 10 MTPA Integrated Steel Plant at Paradeep, Odisha. This marks the largest-ever piling order for the GeoStructure business, highlighting the increasing reliance on L&T for complex infrastructure solutions. The project is poised to play a pivotal role in bolstering steel production capacity in the region.
Additionally, the GeoStructure division has garnered two crucial orders from the Inland Waterways Authority of India. These involve the engineering, procurement, and construction of state-of-the-art Ship Repair Facilities in Patna and Varanasi. Each facility will boast advanced Ship Lift and Transfer Systems, including an 800-tonne boat hoist, designed to revolutionise the repair and maintenance of inland vessels. Such investments are expected to significantly enhance the inland water transport infrastructure, facilitating smoother and more efficient movement of goods and passengers.
This clutch of orders not only reinforces L&T’s standing as a leader in the infrastructure sector but also underscores the growing demand for sophisticated engineering solutions in India’s burgeoning markets. As the nation continues to prioritise infrastructure development, L&T's GeoStructure business appears well-positioned to capitalise on new opportunities, driving economic growth and innovation.
