Rajbhar Criticises SP for Shielding Criminals and Caste Politics

In the vibrant context of Indian politics, Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar has unleashed a formidable critique against the Samajwadi Party (SP), accusing them of nurturing a culture that shields criminals and perpetuates caste-based politics. Speaking on a recent incident in Mubarakpur, Rajbhar claimed SP leaders approached police officers to seek leniency for an accused involved in the murder of a Dalit public representative.

Rajbhar's allegations come as the issue of a caste census occupies centre stage in national discourse. The opposition, including figures like Rahul Gandhi and SP President Akhilesh Yadav, have been persistent in their critique of the central government's stance on caste and community issues. However, Rajbhar dismisses these concerns, suggesting they are distractions from the real issues at hand.

Accusations of Vote-Bank Politics

Rajbhar did not mince words, accusing the opposition of being consumed by vote-bank politics, particularly favouring Muslim votes over national interests. According to him, the opposition's strategies revolve around securing their support base rather than addressing substantive national issues.

"They are obsessed with vote-bank politics, constantly prioritising their interests over national security," Rajbhar remarked, reflecting on the opposition's tactics in Parliament. He further accused them of exploiting social tensions to maintain their electoral support.

The BJP's Stance on Crime

Contrasting the SP's alleged practices, Rajbhar emphasised the BJP government's unwavering stance on crime. He asserted that under the current administration, no criminal would be spared, regardless of caste, religion, or party affiliation. This, he argued, stands in stark contrast to the SP's historical tendencies, which he claims are steeped in caste politics.

The minister's remarks underscore the ongoing tensions between political parties in Uttar Pradesh, where caste often plays a pivotal role in electoral dynamics. As the state prepares for its next elections, such exchanges are likely to intensify, with each party striving to define the narrative in its favour.
