SAIL and EdCIL Join Forces to Digitise Classrooms in India
In a bold move to modernise education, the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has inked a partnership with EdCIL, a government enterprise known for its focus on educational consultancy and technology. This collaboration seeks to transform government schools near SAIL’s operational hubs into centres of digital learning.
The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed amidst much anticipation, involving key figures such as Shri Sanjay Dhar from SAIL and Prof Sumita Rai from MDI, Gurgaon. The project's focal point is the installation of 206 interactive digital panels in schools across Jashpur district. These panels are not merely technological upgrades; they represent a significant stride towards fostering an inclusive and quality educational environment.
As part of SAIL's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, this endeavour underscores the company's commitment to societal development beyond its industrial operations. Given the rapid pace of technological advancement, the need for modern educational tools is more pressing than ever. With an investment of Rs 5 crore, the project promises to bridge the educational disparity in rural and semi-urban areas.
