Teachers Gather to Inspire Young Minds at Science Camp

In the tranquil setting of Bishop Heber College, over 100 teacher guides recently converged for an intensive training camp, marking a significant milestone in the National Children’s Science Congress. This gathering, far from being a mere academic exercise, was a spirited endeavour to equip educators with the tools to ignite curiosity among young minds.

The camp was graced by the presence of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, who inaugurated the event with a call to action: 'Encourage students to question until they find answers that satisfy them.' His words resonated with the Congress's theme, 'Understanding Ecosystems for Health & Well-being', a timely topic given the increasing environmental challenges.

The training, organised by the PG and Research Department of Chemistry alongside the Tamil Nadu Science Forum, aimed to deepen teachers' understanding of ecological systems. This knowledge is crucial as educators guide students through the complexities of our planet's ecosystems, fostering a generation of inquisitive and informed citizens.

Empowering Educators

Participants engaged in a variety of workshops and discussions, exploring innovative teaching methods to bring science to life in the classroom. The camp emphasised the role of educators in demystifying scientific concepts, making them accessible and exciting for children.

Professor Anjali Menon, one of the organisers, noted, 'Inspiring a child to question is as significant as providing the answers. It is this spirit of inquiry that propels scientific discovery.'

As the camp concluded, the message was clear: while textbooks provide the foundation, it is the questioning spirit that builds the path to understanding. The teacher guides, armed with fresh insights, are now poised to inspire the next wave of young scientists.
