The initiative, spearheaded by IIT-Ropar and Punjab Agricultural University, will see the deployment of 100 advanced AI-based weather stations across the state by the end of March. The deployment is part of a broader scheme to create a robust Weather Intelligence Network, marking Punjab as the first hub for this ambitious project. The AI technology employed in these weather stations will offer farmers precise data on weather patterns, enabling them to make informed decisions regarding irrigation, pest control, and crop management.
