CBSE Eases Path for Class 12 Re-evaluation with Lower Fees
In a bid to address growing concerns among students and parents, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has embarked on the Class 12 re-evaluation process with a significantly reduced fee structure. This comes on the heels of the 2026 board examinations, which saw the introduction of the On-Screen Marking system—a system that has not been without its teething problems.
Starting from the 19th of May, students are now able to apply for scanned copies of their answer sheets. This step marks an effort to demystify the evaluation process and provide greater transparency. Once the answer sheets are reviewed, students can then decide whether to apply for re-evaluation or verification, with the fees for these services having been slashed to make them more affordable.

In addition to the fee reduction, CBSE has implemented a full-refund policy for cases where re-evaluation leads to an increase in marks, further incentivising transparency and accuracy in the marking process.
