Ex-Servicemen Enlisted to Guard Ladakh's Delicate Ecosystem

One hundred ex-servicemen have been called to duty once more, this time to serve in an Environment Protection Force (EPF) aimed at preserving the region's delicate ecological balance.
The initiative, spearheaded by the Ladakh Administration, seeks to curb illegal off-roading, a reckless activity that has plagued the area, damaging its unique topography and disturbing its wildlife. Equipped with the authority to issue on-the-spot fines, these former military personnel bring a blend of discipline and local knowledge to their new roles.
